Quality Improvement Team

The Quality Improvement team offer support, guidance and challenge to Early Years providers within the Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) sector including Childminders.

The team work to ensure settings are implementing the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), setting the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five.

This is achieved by focused visits to providers and training; both universal and bespoke. Opportunities for practitioners, leaders, and committees are provided which enable discussion around pertinent policy and related issues, local initiatives etc. Additional network opportunities are provided such as Leaders and Managers briefingsSENCo networks and Shared Foundation Partnerships.

The primary aim is to continually improve provision ensuring the highest quality experiences leading to all children achieving a good level of development at the end of their Foundation Stage year

Access & Inclusion

Support to help you improve outcomes for disabled children in line with SEN Code of Practice 2014 and the Children & Family Act 2014. Support to enhance and celebrate inclusive practice by completing the Inclusion Standards - a framework to assist in achieving your Gold award for inclusion.

Out Of School Club support

Access support to help you improve outcomes for children in line with legislative standards, statutory Ofsted welfare requirements, and the ethos of the council's policy for play.

Information for Special Educational Needs Co-ordinators (SENCos) in Early Years settings and school nurseries regarding support for pre-school children with a variety of disabilities and special educational needs (SEN).
