Upfaders is Yorks ground-breaking youth music project. Since 2009 professional DJ’s and producers have worked together to help young people in York learn DJ and production skills using industry standard gear and to gain the competence and confidence to perform their music at an Upfaders gig.
Upfaders works closely in partnership with all the agencies in York that support young people and our local music education providers to ensure that all young people have the opportunity to get involved in music. You don’t need any qualifications or experience to get involved, just a positive attitude and a passion for music.
In July 2013, Powered by Youth Music, Upfaders is joining forces with Door84 to create even more opportunities for young people. This will include regular, intensive 10 week projects, quarterly gigs, 2 open access sessions per week, a weekly girls only session, monthly community outreach sessions plus regular visits for our participants to other education providers with all the support needed to help you start your career in music.
If you’re serious about music but not sure what to do about it, then get in touch with the team at Door84
