The Island

The Island aims to support children and young people aged 8-13 (and disabled young people aged 8-18) who are struggling to cope at home, at school, or with life in the wider community. Volunteer mentors provide support, encouragement and space to these youngsters as they encounter difficult change and transition, enabling them to develop confidence and social skills, as well as to engage positively each week through organised activities.
Mentees choose their weekly activities and as such, no-one should be excluded from our service, which is open to all 8-13 year olds (and disabled young people aged 8-18) requiring help.

The office is open from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, and can be reached on 01904 628449. Alternatively, there is a mobile phone number, which can be used from 9 am until 5 pm - 0759 569 5559.

Closed at weekends, on Bank Holidays and during Christmas/New Year week
