Sash - Safe And Sound Homes

Micklegate, York

SASH is a youth homelessness charity that works across York, North and East Yorkshire.

We help young people aged 16-25 who are facing homelessness.

We do not run a hostel or own any property. The accommodation we offer is through our Nightstop and Supported Lodgings services, which rely on volunteer ‘hosts’ who offer a spare room in their own home.

If you are in York and are 16-17:
Go to the West Offices, Station Rise, York, YO1 6GA. Speak to someone in Housing Options to make a ‘homeless presentation’. You do not need an appointment, just go between 9am and 4pm. After 4pm, it might be harder to arrange the help you need, as any emergency beds available might have been used up.

If you are in York and are 18 or over:
Go to the Salvation Army at the Peasholme Centre, Fishergate, York Mon-Fri 10am-12pm.

If you are a student at York College you can go and see the Intensive Personal Advisors there who can make referrals for emergency accommodation with us on the day.

If you need to talk to someone about emergency accommodation out of office hours, you should contact the Emergency Duty Team on 01609 780780.
