Idas - Independent Domestic Abuse Services, York

Micklegate Ward, York

Please use the 24 hour helpline - 03000 110 110 - for referrals and urgent matters as answering this will be given priority.
IDAS is a charity that provides comprehensive support services to all those experiencing or affected by domestic abuse and violence. We work throughout York and North Yorkshire.
We support all adults (male and female) and offer emergency accommodation to women with or without children.
The 24 hour national helpline is 0808 2000 247.
We also provide a Rape Support Line - 0300 111 0777. The line is open on Tuesdays from 5pm until 7pm and on Thursdays 5pm - 9pm. It's a free, confidential service offering telephone support, advice or just a listening ear to adults who have been raped or sexually assaulted.
We were formerly York Women's Aid and decided to change our name to reflect the changing nature of the work we do. As well as expanding the geographical area of our work, we now provide support to male victims of abuse as well as women and employ a young person's advocacy worker to work with people aged 11 to 18 years old.
