Latest Update

November/December 2018

What we have done:

  • Our planning application target decision committee is 6th December. Available to view on the Councils planning portal, reference 18/01467/GRG3 for the COE-DC development, reference 18/01475/GRG3 for developing the playing field at the back of Hob Moor school
  • Planning application for the new substation reference 18/02177/FUL will be discussed at the planning committee early January
  • We have continued working with our preferred contractor – Sewells Construction, to progress the build-ability of the building, and achieve financial efficiencies where possible.
  • Our Architects and Interior Designer have taken on board comments on interior designs, themes and engagement packs from key stakeholders, parents and carers.
  • We have consulted with specific experts to ensure areas of design will meet the needs of the diverse range of children and young people with complex needs. This includes care staff at the Glen, Autism specialists, Teachers at Hob Moor Oaks and Applefields school, Visual Impairment specialists, OTs and parent / carers.
  • Ward Councillors have been updated on current project progress and key concerns of local residents and stakeholders have been discussed.

What we plan to do next:

  • Present and seek planning agreement at 6th Dec planning committee
  • Follow up and seek final agreement of section 77 application from DfE
  • Work with contractor, architect and sub contractors towards a final price. This process may involve slight adjustments of current designs and plans
  • Update all stakeholders on progress and ensure all key decisions are made with input from practice experts and front line experience.
  • Continue working closely with the development of Lincoln Court (the older persons accommodation next door) to ensure that when construction starts there is minimum disruption to local residents, community and school.
  • Continue to work closely with Hob Moor School and Sewells PFI provider.
