The City of York had a statutory obligation to have a strategy which ran until 2020 to eradicate child poverty by 2020. This ambition was laid out in the Child Poverty Act and passed into law in March 2010.
Going forward, although we do not have a specific Child Poverty Strategy, you can find further information about York's approach to continue its hard work in supporting our most vulnerable families and children via the multi agency work within the Local Area Teams and partners. Partners in York have been working together to produce on a city wide strategy to help reduce child poverty in York.
The strategy has been agreed and will launch later in 2011.
