Jigsaw

The Jigsaw programme is for parents of children with learning disabilities who are under 11.  There will be 5 sessions before the summer holidays and 5 sessions in September. Parents are encouraged to attend all 10 sessions.

The topics that will be covered are understanding terminology and labels, communication, assessing behaviour, behaviour strategies and sleep.  Other aspects of parenting such as boundaries will also be covered.

Whilst the group has specific topics it will be flexible to meet the needs of the parents who attend that particular group, the parents will have opportunities to talk to other parents and discuss a specific difficult to them to work through.

NB. Parents of children with autism should attend the ASCEND programme instead of Jigsaw.
