£145,000 is a lot of money—do you want to help spend it?
Applying for funds
Are you part of a youth group? Does your group want a share of £145,000—then the YorKash scheme is for you!
The Yorkash Application process is now open. If you are 13-19 and have an idea for a project or activity that you think you could make happen then we want to hear from you.
You can download the application form—we have tried to keep it short and simple. We want to hear about your idea, why it’s needed and how you think you could make it happen. You will need an adult to support your group to do it. You can ask for £1500 or more—but the more you ask for the better case you will need to make.
You need to get the completed form back to us by 12th Feb 2010. APPLICATION FOR YORKASH IS NOW CLOSED.
If you have any questions, please get in touch carole.pugh@york.gov.uk or 01904 552350.
Good Luck!
The panel
- Who we are:
- Young people aged 13-19 from all over York, from different schools. There are 11 young people on the panel this year.
- When we meet:
- Wednesday’s during term time between 5.10 and 7.30pm at 29 Castlegate.
- What is YorKash?
- A group of young people from around York who join together once a week. We get an amount of money (usually about £145,000) from the government. We decide which groups in York which will benefit other young people the money should be spent on. Within this we design the application form, get young people to apply and interview them. We spend the money (on youth groups, not on cake unfortunately) and then we PARTY to celebrate the work we’ve done.
- What we do:
- We join as a group to build qualities like team building and confidence building as well as games. We earn AQA awards and have some snacks to help us on our way.
