National College for Teaching and Leadership - On 1 April 2013, the National College merged with the Teaching Agency to become the National College for Teaching and Leadership. The new agency has two key aims: improving the quality of the workforce; and helping schools to help each other to improve.

Department for Education - The Department for Education was formed on 12 May 2010 and is responsible for education and children's services. 

Disclosure and Barring Service - The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children. It replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).
