Setting up childcare provision

Becoming a childminder

Your everyday skills could shape someone’s future…

Imagine a job that makes a real difference to children – one that builds their confidence and helps them to develop into well adjusted, sociable young people. Then imagine the flexibility to do this job in your own home, fitting with your other commitments. You can be your own boss, have professional status, develop business skills and earn financial benefits.

You can have all this if you become a registered childminder. Currently we have demand for childminders in the following areas:

  • Clifton
  • Scarcroft
  • City Centre

For advice on becoming a childminder contact the Early Years and Extended School's Service through the Family Information Service.

The Early Years and Extended School's Partnership helps create new childcare places and ensure that new provision is in the right place. Please contact the the Development Workers team for a discussion on 01904 554592 or go through the Family Information Service.
