Improving Access To Psychological Therapies (IAPT)

Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) is part of a national programme to improve access to evidence-based psychological therapies for common mental health problems. The service is for anyone aged 16 and over who is registered with a Vale of York GP practice.

We provide talking therapies for people experiencing the following difficulties:
• depression
• panic disorder
• anxiety and worry
• health anxiety
• social phobia
• specific phobias
• post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
Depression, anxiety and emotional distress are more common than you might think. IAPT offers a range of interventions to suit individual needs

Alternatively you can make an appointment with your GP to discuss your problems. If appropriate, your GP can refer you to the IAPT service.
