OK so now it’s time to burn off some energy from all those Easter Eggs! You will find lots of great sporting opportunities in this issue. Why not have a go at inclusive basketball? A brand new sport that has come to York that is suitable for all abilities! Check out the advert in the Sports section. We have some new rugby courses too and loads of football. Huntington Community Sport is again hosting some FREE come and try sessions if you are into racket sports! Also at Huntington there is a beginners boxing course and a learn to skip session in aid of the British Hearth Foundation – come and show off your tricks if you’re already a skipper!
If you are having trouble accessing some of the activities and courses then the Me Too scheme may be for you, talk to your parents or your school about it. You may be eligible for free places on activities or there may be more going on at your school than you realize!
In 2010 City of York Council will aim to ensure that you are able to take up at least 10 hours of cultural activities per week – every week! This could be 5 hours in school and 5 hours out of school. You will be able to find out about what you can do here in School’s Out! and on the web pages too.
