Children, young people and families in York have told us what is important for them – they want:
- More say in the city – in shaping services; engaging in the community; promoting peer support and volunteering.
- Having the contribution and achievements of young people recognised.
- To have support from knowledgeable and supportive adults, who can then give guidance about access to high quality services and sources of information.
- To raise the positive public profile of children and young people and promote respect between children and young people and the rest of the community.
- To be Safe – from all forms of bullying and violence.
- To be Healthy – having easy access to health advice and support in school and the community.
- Transport to be affordable if in full time education and safe.
A list of all the previous consultation work held in our database can be obtained by contacting Bernie Flanagan bernie.flanagan@york.gov.uk.
