Level 2 (16+)
Level 2 courses are available at colleges and some school sixth forms.
- Entry requirements vary, but you are likely to need a foundation learning qualification or some GCSEs (grades D–E). Please check individual course requirements for full details.
- Most courses are vocational, and take a year to complete.
- Vocational areas available include: construction, art and design, animal management and motor vehicle.
Hints and tips
- The colleges offer taster days in addition to open days/evenings. These are a great way to try out what the courses involve.
- As most of these courses are vocational, it’s important to think about what career areas interest you and to research the courses carefully.
- If you want to re-sit Maths or English GCSE to improve your grade, it may be possible to do this while taking a level 2 course.
