What's on in the holidays

Below is a taste of inclusive activities and events that are taking place this summer 2014. You can also view other events and activities on our events page and Shine. Summer at the Blueberry Academy

The Blueberry Academy, at The Melbourne Centre are having a summer academy for 16+ children/young people with disabilities and additional needs. This will be spread out over three and a half weeks across the school summer holidays. Children can sign up for just one day or several days.

Inclusion Disco

The Blueberry Academy are holding an inclusion disco on for young people aged 16+.

When: Saturday 23rd August 2014

Where: Melbourne Centre, Escrick Street, York

Time: 7.30pm - 10pm

Cost: £5

Additional info:

There will be soft drinks and hot dogs to buy.

People with specific needs should bring their personal assistant.

Walks:

Inclusive Walks

Why not enjoy what York has to offer and join the Sports and Active Leisure Team’s new  Inclusive Walks? The walks are wheelchair accessible and anyone is welcome.

The walks take place at 11am on the third Wednesday of every month and will change every month.

Time: 11am

Meet at: Tang Hall Community Centre.

Sport:

For sports enthusiasts or beginners there are plenty of sport and physical activities during the holidays.

New! Weekly running group for people with a visual impairment.

When: Starts Wednesday 20th August 2014

Time: 7pm

Where: The group will meet at the Hamilton Panthers Clubhouse, Little Knavesmire, Knavesmire Road.

City Inclusive Football Club. This is a fun and friendly disability football session for all abilities, on an artificial grass pitch.

If you like meeting people and like football why not pop along? Please note booking is required.

Cost:

First session is FREE!

£2.50 per session (this is an introductory price until August).

When: Every Sunday

Time:

12-1pm for ages 11-15 years old

1-2pm for ages 16+ years
