York Family Information Service is a free and impartial information service for mums, dads and carers of children and young people aged 0-19 (or up to 25 for disabled children).
The Family Information Service can help with anything and everything around family life.
If you're a mum, dad or carer, and have a question but don't know where to go, then please contact us.
There are lots of things you're automatically expected to know as a parent. Our information scheme means we send you important information about family life that we hope will help you.
We don't use adverts, just useful information when you need it.
When it comes to choosing childcare there are lots of options to think about. York Family Information Service has information about all childcare in and around York. We can provide you with tailored information and talk you through different ways of reducing your childcare bill.
York Family Information Service is running a competition to name the York FIS Bear that is pictured on our Facebook page.
We’re putting out a call to any York resident aged 4-12 years old to help us out. Parents/carers please send us your name suggestions via Twitter (tweet @YorkFIS with the hashtag #YorkFISBear) or e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org using the Subject line “FISBear competition").
We’ll pick out our favourites soon, then set up a public poll so you can vote for the best name.
The child who submits the winning name will win a mini version of our Bear!
