Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is for children and young people up to the age of 18 who have emotional or behavioural problems or other mental health difficulties - after all, there is no health without mental health. About 1 in 10 children and young people have these kinds of problems at some time in their lives.

There is an outpatient service - Lime Trees provided by Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust ; and an inpatient service - Mill Lodge, provided by Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Most people seen by the Lime Trees team attend appointments or groups in the outpatient (community team) service. If the problem is more severe and needs more intensive support, then the Mill Lodge inpatient team can become involved.
