It promises to challenge even the most fearless adventurers comprising of 22 elements of ranging difficulty.
Wired has state of the art safety equipment and you are attached all the way around the course. No expense has been spared to ensure that this course is using the safest and best quality kit available in the world. The course has been inspected by an independent inspector and all staff who are operating are ERCA qualified instructors.

In March, York schools will compete in the Big Pedal a UK virtual bike race. Join Sustrans for a fun warm up week this February half term. We will be at York Explore, Museum Street through the half term break 13th – 17th Febraury so come and join in the Bike It fun!!!

Sportivate Funding - Money for Your Club!

Sportivate is a £32 million Lottery programme (£100k across North Yorkshire) that gives 14-25 year olds access to six-week courses in a range of sports including judo, golf, tennis, wakeboarding, athletics, and parkour or free running.
Not only is it a chance for them to learn a new sport or improve on existing skills, but if they keep taking part after the course is finished, they could find themsleves on their way to watch the London 2012 Olympic or Paralympics Games. All participants who complete their course, missing no more than one session, and keep playing the sport for at least another three months will be entered into a ballot for free London 2012 tickets.
The programme is aimed at those who are not currently choosing to take part in sport in their own time, or are doing so for a very limited amount of time - and will support them to continue playing sport in their community after the six weeks is up. During the six weeks a participant may work towards an event or personal challenge.
Sportivate is fully inclusive and target participants across this group, including young people who have a disability, males and females and people from people BME groups.

Toy Bus Timetable - Available Here!

The Toy Bus is a friendly and fun mobile toy library service that visits communities in and around York.

Children, carers and families can come onto the purpose built bus and choose items to borrow from the wide and exciting range of good quality toys, books and play equipment (age range from 0 to 5 years). It may also be used by childminders, playgroups, nurseries and other groups that involve children. The bus offers a friendly place where advice and information can be found on play and toys.

The Toy Bus will be touring York over the next few weeks. You can find out where by downloading the time table here:

This February Energise have prduced a flier for their February Half Term time tables. It contains lots of other great Energise activities and news as well. You will also find the time table for Yearsley pool in here too!

You can pick the flier up from Energise in the next few days and you will be able to upload it from the Shine WebPages once we have all the February activities online. Not long to wait now!



MTB Track Opening Event at Rawcliffe Country Park!!!

It's been a long time coming and now the pump track is finally finished………. why not come and join us for the official opening on Friday 17th February?

The track is next to Rawcliffe Bar, Park and Ride and we'll meet our riders at the Park and Ride classroom.

We've laid on some great coaches and we'll also be providing mountain bikes, helmets and gloves for any riders that book in advance.

It would be great to see some top local riders on the track but make sure you give the beginners some room at this event!

We've got 4 x 1.5hr sessions planned:

1. 8 - 11 yr olds, 9 - 10.30 am. £5.
2. 8 - 11 yr olds, 10.30 - 12 am. £5.
3. 12 - 14 yr olds, 12.30 - 2.00 pm. £5.
4. 14 yr olds +, 2 - 3.30 pm. £5.
