Graduate Leader Fund April 2011 – March 2012
Due to budgetary constraints and reduced levels of funding within the City of York Council applicants will need to meet one of the following priorities to be eligible to receive funding.
Applications for monies from the Graduate Leader Fund are welcome from Ofsted registered settings in receipt of Nursery Education Funding, providing care and early education for under fives within the Private, Voluntary and Independent sector.
Priorities
- Support for those practitioners already enrolled on Foundation Degree courses to complete their studies, this would also include those moving onto Honours Degree. The level of funding will be 95% cost of course fees up to a maximum of £1,282.50.
- Full day care settings (non domestic premises) in areas of deprivation.
- Full day care settings (non domestic premises) without a graduate.
- New applicants from practitioners for the financial year 2011/12 are welcome from full-day care settings on non domestic premises and accredited childminders. The maximum number of practitioners that the LA will provide funding for is 2 per setting and would include those on existing pathways.
- Support to achieve Maths and/or English equivalency for those eligible to apply for EYPS training.
Please note that funding is paid to the setting and not the individual. Should a successful applicant fail to complete the full academic year then steps may be taken to seek reimbursement of the grant.
