Catalyst Aims

The primary aim of Catalyst is to support and challenge families to minimise their anti-social behaviour, prevent the risk of homelessness and significantly reduce the impact of child poverty.

Due to the intensive support needed for families who are eligible for the project (see Matrix of Referral Indicators), Catalyst keyworkers will have the capacity to work with 4-6 families to ensure wrap around support is in place for the whole family. Each family, once accepted onto the project, works with a keyworker for a minimum of 6 months.

Catalyst Keyworkers will ensure that they:

  • Engage families in a highly intensive multi agency package of support.
  • Undertake comprehensive multi-agency needs assessments on the whole family.
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive plan (contract) alongside the family.
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners to assist families to re-engage with mainstream services.
  • Contribute positively towards the five key outcomes through Every Child Matters.
