Post Qualifying Practice Enabling Module

Want to help students prepare for a career in social work?

Eligibility*

Qualified Social Worker, normally with a minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience.

Commitment from Children and Families**

Time off for study to attend 6 teaching days. In addition, if doing the accredited course, up to a further 6 days for assignment preparation, and up to a further 6 days for study leave.

Exact arrangements for study leave should be agreed between your service manager and yourself.

To pay you a fee if you are supervising an undergraduate social work student. This fee will normally be paid in a lump sum once the practice teaching commitment has been completed. Details of fee rates are available from the Training and Development Officer (Children and Families).

Expectations of individuals*** 

If you are completing the accredited course you will be expected to offer a practice learning opportunity to a student.

To attend workshop days at the University and to complete assignments by set dates.
