Post Qualifying Higher Specialist Award (2 year course)

Thinking about embarking on Masters level post qualifying study?

Eligibility*

Qualified Social Worker.

Successful achievement of the Post Qualifying Consolidation Module, PQ1 or equivalent.

Applicants should expect to have to go through a competitive in-house selection process involving completing an application form and attending a panel interview. There is a limit on the number of students per year who can be sponsored on the course.

Commitment from Children and Families**

To provide time off for study to attend 25 afternoons of lectures at Huddersfield University, and up to 11 days of study for assignment preparation.

Exact arrangements for study leave should be agreed between your service manager and yourself.

To provide mentoring and practice assessor support to support you with your studies.

Expectations of individuals*** 

Attendance at the workshop days at the University, completion of assignments by set dates, and completion of a portfolio.

To provide mentoring support to PQ Consolidation and/or NQSW candidates when the occasion arises.
