Essential
- Some experience of caring for children
- A willing to undertake a recognised qualification
- An understanding of and commitment to the provision of high quality childcare, Playwork and a knowledge of child development.
- An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Ability to provide a healthy, safe and secure environment for children
- Excellent communication skills with children, parents, carers and professionals
- Ability to Network with parents, professionals and peers
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Able to be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children, parents and carers
- Commitment to ongoing continuing professional development
Desirable
- Good standard of general education
- Current First Aid qualification
- Current Food Hygiene certificate
- Other related training
- Additional skills (art, craft, sport, music)
- Computer literate
- Willing to be a childminder champion for City of York
