YorSay Quality Framework

Involving and engaging children, young people and families in services that affect them should be a core area of work for any service. This framework is a self-assessment that helps evaluate and develop the quality of involvement work locally. There are three stages to the assessment:

Involvement Standards Process Map

The online self assessment tool is currently under development and will be launched in July 2011. Once you have completed the assessment and action plan you will be given a short summary of your information. This summary can be used operationally to improve your service and also can be used to demonstrate to commissioners your approach to Involvement. The online element of this process should take no longer than 15 minutes.

Prior to the launch of the online self assessment please complete the initial information required. This will help build up the engagement log of involvement work. Once you have completed the basic information required below we will direct you towards other groups, services, activities or strategies that cover similar areas of work and may be of interest to you.

YorOK Involvement Strategy

The YorOK Involvement strategy sets out the vision and aspirations across YorOK (York’s Children’s Trust) for children, young people, mums, dads and carers to participate and engage in all services that affect them.
Involvement includes all work that encourages engagement, participation and consultation as well as active involvement in service planning, delivery and design.

The YorOK Children’s Trust seeks to place the Involvement and Participation of children, young people and families at the core of its work, and adopts the following vision statement (adapted from Article 12 of the UN Convention on Rights for the Child):

“We are committed to ensuring that the views of children, young people and families are taken into account in decision making, planning, commissioning, development, design and delivery of services. We will treat all children, young people and families—no matter their age, ability, religion, sexuality, social or ethnic background—as equal partners and their views will be taken fully into account in all decision making.”

Does your organisation sign up this vision for involvement? (required)
