YorSay—an introduction
|
It is the right of children, young people and families to be involved in planning, design, delivery and evaluation of services (see UN Convention Rights of Child). It is the responsibility of services and workers to ensure that this involvement can take place. York’s involvement strategy sets out the principles for this work as well as identifying priorities for 2008-11. |

From this page you can download a copy of York's Involvement Strategy and find out information about the YorOK Involvement Group that supports this strategy.
Involve children, young people and families
If you provide a service and want to get people involved it can be hard to know where to start. Get guides on best practice, download factsheets to different ways of carrying out consultation, using social networking sites and more!
You said, we did
York is able to demonstrate many examples of high quality involvement work over recent years. A summary of involvement work in York can be found here. The Engagement Log (see below) captures more detailed information about what consultation and engagement work is taking place across York.
Engagement Log
The enagagement log is a fantastic tool that draws together information about the wide range of engagement work that is taking place with children and young people. If you are planning to or have engaged children or young people then make sure to log it on the engagement log. If you would like to get details about activites on the engagement log then contact Niall McVicar on 01904 554444.
