The YorOK newsletter is for everyone in the YorOK workforce so if you have a story that you would like included then get in touch! You can call us on 01904 554444 or email us on yorok-workforce@york.gov.uk.

What is the YorOk Newsletter?

The newsletter has been developed to support communication across the Children’s Trust. It will be produced following the YorOk board meetings. The purpose of the newsletter is to highlight the broad range of work and strategies across YorOK to help improve understanding across the children and young people’s workforce.

The newsletter forms part of the development of a coherent Workforce Communications Strategy.

Who produces the Newsletter?

The Children’s Trust Unit are responsible for publishing and distributing the newsletter on behalf of the Children's Trust.

How do I contribute to the Newsletter?

You can submit information for the newsletter by emailing the content to yorok-workforce@york.gov.uk. For each publication there will be a submission deadline and a publication date. These can be viewed below:

Friday 16th December 2011 Week commencing 16th January 2012
Friday 2nd March 2012 Week commencing 19th March 2012
Friday 4th May 2012 Week commencing 21st May 2012
Friday 29th June 2012 Week commencing 16th July 2012

The scope of potential articles is very broad but the article should relate to the aims of YorOK and the Children and Young People's Plan.

You will be contacted by the Children’s Trust Unit team to confirm that your article will included and the date for distribution.

What should I include in an article?

There are several key elements to a good article for the newsletter.

  • Provide a short one paragraph summary of the article. This is often called a "teaser". Try to get into a few snappy words the message you are wanting to get across.
  • Provide a logo or an image to be included alongside your article. Please note that any images of children and young people will not be included unless you are able to confirm that permission has been given for the image to be used.
  • The article should have information about how people can find out more about a specific area of work. This could be a link to a website or further information about the project that can be created on the YorOK website.

How do I access the Newsletter?

The newsletter will be available on the YorOK website. Alternatively you can register your details on-line and receive the newsletter automatically to your email.
