The Strands of Equality

Equalities legislation is split into six strands and bans discrimination and harassment on the grounds of race, gender, disability, faith, sexuality, age. There are plans from government to also ban discrimination on grounds of socio-economic status.

However, preventing discrimination against people isn’t enough, we also have to actively promote equality between different groups as well.
