Enhanced Equality Impact Assessments

Enhanced Equality Impact Assessments are a thorough analysis of a service policy, procedure, strategy, or delivery method.

Enhanced EIA’s identify any discrimination against, or adverse impact on, people within any of the six strands, plan actions and are public documents.

An enhanced equality impact assessment should result from a standard equality impact assessment where it was thought that a more thorough analysis should be conducted.

For support to complete an enhanced equality impact assessment contact Heather Johnson in the City of York equalities team or your representative on the Equalities Network Group.

For further support, please look at the Training and Support page or resources are available on the Intranet.

Directorate Equality Impact Assessments

Each year LCCS will conduct two directorate wide equality impact assessments.

The focus of these impact assessments will be common issues that have been identified throughout LCCS.

For 2009, the directorate Equality Impact Assessments will look at:

  • Access to recreational activities for disabled children & young people and adults (Lead Officer - Jess Haslam)
  • Communication with children, young people and adults (Lead Officer - Alistair Gourlay)
