Reduce your childcare bills
There are lots of different ways you can get support to reduce your childcare costs. Take a look at our childcare costs section. Also the Daycare Trust have produced a great online guide to find out what you are entitled to. Family Finances
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) have produced a parent's guide to money. If you are a prospective parent your midwife should give you a paper copy of the guide between 3 and 6 months of your pregnancy. You can access an online version of the guide through the FSA wesbite. The website has online calculators to help you work out where you stand with:

- Returning to Work
- Tax Credits

The One Space’s Money Survival Kit is a comprehensive guide to help single parents make the most of their income and spending.
Lone parents often have complex financial problems that reflect the difficulties they may be facing in other areas of their lives, including: difficulties with debt, housing, benefits, low pay, tax credits, insecure jobs, childcare costs, CSA and health issues.
Homelessness
If you're a young person then the Young People's Survival Guide has lots of useful information about housing and homelessness. City of York Council also have information on their website around being homeless and finding housing. Search the Service Directory for information about homelessness.
Jobcentre Plus
Jobcentre Plus can help people into paid work and can also make sure those that can't work get help and support they are entitled to. Find your local Jobcentre Plus in the service directory.
Castlegate
Castlegate is a confidential service for young people aged 16 - 25 in the city of York. You can go about any subject like money, sexual health, finding somewhere to live, your career, learning or if your just feeling a bit stressed out.
